The United Federation of Lecturers is now throwing its assist behind Zohran Mamdani within the normal election for mayor of New York Metropolis, after the union declined to endorse a candidate in the course of the Democratic main.
The UFT’s delegate meeting voted Tuesday to endorse the 33-year-old Queens state assemblyman, lower than a month after it refused to endorse the Democratic socialist within the main.

Mamdani stated he was honored to have the UFT’s assist.
